A variety of green bean that is thick, fleshy, tender and rounded, belonging to the Fabaceae family. Grown both in open fields and greenhouses, available year-round.
Green beans are low in calories but rich in important nutrients. They are full of antioxidants including vitamin C, flavonols, quercetin, and kaempferol, which fight free radicals and may help reduce the risk of certain health conditions.
The soluble fibre in green beans can help improve heart health by lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, and also supports a healthy digestive system.
